The Yocha Dehe Fee-to-Trust and Housing Project Final Environmental Assessment (EA) has been prepared for the United States Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) to support an application from the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation (Tribe) for land to be placed into federal trust (Proposed Action). The BIA is the federal agency that is charged with reviewing and approving tribal applications to take land into federal trust status. The land proposed for trust acquisition, which is currently owned in fee title by the Tribe, consists of approximately 853± acres in Yolo County, California.The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), Pacific Regional Office, has issued a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) dated October 25, 2012, determining that the proposed trust acquisition of 15 parcels encompassing a total of 853± acres by the United States for the Tribe will not result in significant effects to the quality of the environment. The BIA’s determination is based on public comments received on the Environmental Assessment, the responses to those comments, the analysis contained in the Final Environmental Assessment and the mitigation proposed.
